Pheidole dentigula

This ant is restricted to the Southeastern US, only living as far north as North Carolina and as far west as Texas. Pheidole dentigula prefers to nest in forest habitats. In moist forests, it lives in soil and rotten wood. In drier habitats, it gets the humidity it needs by living in tree stumps that hold water, or under layers of leaf litter where pockets of moisture last. Where do you think you could find this ant near you?
